Thanks for visiting DFACambridge.org! This website is devoted to promoting civic engagement at the local level, and we hope you'll find it useful. Here are some questions and answers to help you get started:
Why should I register?
Registering on the site gives you two primary privileges: 1) the ability to post to the blog; 2) the ability to post to the calendar.
Please note that registering on this site does not add you to our email list. If you'd like to get announcements about upcoming DFA Cambridge events, please join our DFA Link group by going to http://www.dfalink.com/cambridge
How do I register?
To register, go to http://www.dfacambridge.org/user/register. You will need to provide a username and an email address. The username can be anything you want, although we recommend your first initial followed by your last name: e.g. "jsmith" for Jane Smith.
Once you register, the system will send you a password in the mail. This may take a moment, so please be patient. You may also want to check your spam folder, as emails sometimes end up in there.
How do I log in?
Once you've finished registering, look up the email you received which contains your randomly generated password. Then go to http://www.dfacambridge.org/ and type in your username and password in the login box on the left hand side of the screen.
Please note that your username and password should be typed exactly as they appear in the email you received from the system.
What if I forget my password?
If you forget your password, go to http://www.dfacambridge.org/user/password and type in either your username, or your email address. You don't need to type in both. Click the "Email new password" button, and the system will randomly generate a new password for you, and send you an email with the new password.
How can I change my password?
Once you log in, go to http://www.dfacambridge.org/user. Click the tab which says "edit", which will bring up a screen where you can edit your profile. Type in your new password, in both of the text boxes underneath the word "Password", and click the "Submit" button. Your password will be updated for future logins.
How do I post an event to the calendar?
Once you've registered, login to the site. Then, find the link for "Post a calendar event" on the left-hand side of the screen, or go to http://www.dfacambridge.org/node/add/flexinode-1. Your event will automatically be added to our event calendar at http://www.dfacambridge.org/event
How do I post a blog entry?
Once you've registered, login to the site. Then, find the link for "Post a blog" on the left-hand side of the screen, or go to http://www.dfacambridge.org/node/add/blog. Your event will automatically be added to our blog at http://www.dfacambridge.org/blog
What may I post on the blog or calendar?
Anything you want! In general it's a good idea to stick to the topic of this site - events or posts related to progressive politics, civic activism, or political events around the Cambridge area.
What if I need more help?
Send an email to info (at) dfacambridge (dot) org. We'll try to respond quickly, but this site is run by volunteers, so please be patient.
